As part of this summer's Green Tokyo tree-planting campaign (August 9-22), a 26 foot-tall Hello Kitty float was placed in the Odaiba waterfront area. Other popular Sanrio characters (My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Keroppi, etc...those are really the names!) are also featured on 28 other floating balls. Sanrio will sell novelty goods during the event and donate part of the profits to a fund to be used for greenery projects. So cute!
