“There is a fine line between having a good time and being a wanton slut. I know. My toe has been on that line.” Blanche Devereaux

Actress Rue McClanahan died Thursday of a brain hemorrhage. She was 76.

We all knew McClanahan best as promiscuous Southern belle Blanche on The Golden Girls (I still watch the reruns before bed). And here's a fun fact: her character's full name was actually Blanche Elizabeth Devereaux, initials B.E.D.—coincidence?

McClanahan starred as Blanche for 8 years and 206 episodes. The role earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1987.

Picture it: Heaven, 2010...Sophia, Dorothy and Blanche sitting around a kitchen table in their robes, sharing a cheesecake.
