A spoonerism is "an error in speech or deliberate play on words in which corresponding consonants, vowels, or morphemes are switched." The term was named after the Reverend William Archibald Spooner (July 22, 1844 – August 29, 1930), a warden of New College, Oxford, who was notoriously prone to this tendency.
So go ahead and invert your words all day—drive everyone nucking futs!
