If you don't live in the Great Lakes region, you may be unaware of a small holiday that us girls force our guys to celebrate -- it's called Sweetest Day. Today (the third Saturday in October), is a sort of mini-Valentine's Day and an excuse for us gals to
Sweetest Day was created in 1922 by Cleveland's Retails Confectioners International, who originally described it as an "occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember not only the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed." But again—and most importantly—it's an excuse to eat candy!
