When wooden chairs no longer fit your decor, or a leg breaks under pressure, there's not much reason to keep them around. But have you ever thought of recycling the backs of the chairs and reusing them as hangers? They may be a little bulky, but the Abitudini clothes hangers are certainly more elegant than the cheap plastic or (gasp) wire ones. Plus they'd make a great conversation starter whenever you hang up a guest's jacket.
